Croham Hurst Golf Club

Croham Hurst Layabouts

Membership of the Layabouts is open to Club members who are retired or not in full time employment and 55 years of age or older. The aim of the Layabouts is to support its members in their golfing activities and to arrange an interesting and varied range of golfing and social events.

Back in the mid 1960’s a couple of the Croham Hurst members were behind the instigation of friendly matches amongst the Seniors from clubs in Surrey and Kent. The Layabouts now have some 25 matches annually, played home and away, mainly in the summer on Mondays and include a post-match lunch. Through the winter and summer there are 18 domestic competitions on our home course. Members are encouraged to stay for a social lunch when arranged.

When possible there is also a Monday morning Roll-Up which is a particularly enjoyable way for new members to play in a relaxed atmosphere, share the highs and lows of their golfing morning and experience the friendship of the Roll-Up over coffee or drink in the clubhouse afterwards. It is an excellent way of quickly feeling a welcome and valued member of Croham Hurst Layabouts.
