General Manager

Croham Hurst GC is a members club governed by Articles of Association and is a Community Amateur Sports Club.  The General Manager (GM) will be responsible to the Board Chairman and four directors who are elected by the membership.

The GM is supported in the office by an accounts’ assistant.  In addition, they will lead a team consisting of a Bar and Catering Manager, Head Greenkeeper, Consultant Agronomist and Golf Professional.  The kitchen operation is franchised.

The GM will be required: -

Operational:-

To have executive accountability for all aspects of the day-to-day management of CHGC within the strategic objectives and key performance indicators agreed with the Board.

People: -

To provide an engaging and collaborative style of leadership to all staff, motivating and supporting them to achieve individual and team objectives in the provision of service to members and visitors.

Marketing and Customer Service

To develop a co-ordinated sales and marketing strategy to create new innovative income streams in all areas of golf and non-golf by regularly reviewing and updating the Club’s promotion plan, using social media platforms to communicate with the membership and the local and national stage where appropriate.

Personal Attributes

Our General Manager will need to be people focused, a team leader and builder, able to motivate and mentor through strong interpersonal skills.  They will see their role as fostering good relationships with members, guests and staff.

Essential Skills

Knowledge of budgets and accounts.
Knowledge of bar and catering management.
Upkeep of building facilities and the management of contractors.
Computer literate with experience of relevant software applications and management systems/data storage.
It is desirable to understand golf and its traditions or have experience in a comparable industry.

REMUNERATION

Salary negotiable depending on experience based on 40 hours a week.
